When I think of Southern Ladies and all that is good about the South...
Happy Birthday Beautiful Heather! As I sit and think about all the things that I have learned from you I am overwhelmed! Where to start? I first met you when we moved into your College Station ward. I was impressed with all I knew about you but our paths crossed rarely and I was mostly left with the thought, "How does one get to be friends with busy Heather?" Our friendship began when we were called to serve together in Relief Society. You were our "Energizer" bunny in the presidency. No task was too small or too overwhelming. You worked full time, mothered full time, and kept us all organized full time! You earned the nickname "Bunny" quickly, and I knew that I could count on you for all the "extra's" that made our Presidency amazing! I also knew I could depend on you in our presidency meetings to keep the discussions in good taste and to steer away from "unladylike" topics! You set the bar for all secretary/3rd counselors. I was just called to serve as the Young Women's secretary in our ward and I find myself thinking daily, what would Heather do? I am so grateful for the example you set of a woman who has a full plate but with a smile, grabs another plate and just keeps going! I want to be like you when I grow up! When I think of Southern Ladies, good manners, and gracious living, your image comes instantly to mind. I love your dedication and devotion to your family, the church, your work, and the Aggie's. Your passion for them is contagious. My love to you as you celebrate this milestone birthday, the number of which I am sure a southern lady would find impolite to mention. :-) My wish for you is that you will celebrate it knowing that many people on at least two continents are thinking of you and celebrating their great fortune in being your friend. Happy Birthday!
Love, Lori Jacox
