This little ditty is written to go along with the birthday gift from your dad and me.  I don't know if you should read it first and then open the boxes, or open the boxes and then read the poem.  It's up to you, hope you enjoy!  

Heather is turning the big 4 and 0
And Shepler's service is never slow
Presents in boxes from across the sea
Can now be opened with much glee

Protection from the Aussie heat
has a little Texas beat

Silver earrings are real danglers
But not too fancy for a wrangler

Western flip flops on your feet
Put them on and dance to the beat

Hope this birthday is happy and fun
And filled with good memories when it's done
A familiar saying fits in here
It doesn't rhyme, but the meaning is clear

You can take the girl out of Texas
But you can't take Texas out of the girl!  


We hope this birthday is a great one for you Heather!  Hope you enjoy the gifts you have been looking at for weeks!  It's not so bad to be 40, you have so much wisdom and experience to draw from.  You are a treasure to our family, you are extremely interesting and unique in all the best ways.
I admire your spunk and go get 'um attitude.  I also love your soft, caring side, and the person you have become.  I look forward to birthdays on U.S. soil in the future! Love ya!
